When filing bankruptcy, do you have to wait until after the court date to find out if it's denied?

I was wondering if you file and based on the paperwork your attorney provides the court, is it possible that you won’t even get a court date?

you wait until you get the paperwork telling you the decision – might be several months after the hearing – you will definitely have to go – probably to a federal courthouse, go thru metal detectors, get sworn, and answer their questions

Usually that is the case but speak to your lawyer in the case that there are special rules in your jurisdiction.
