What will happen to the JEEP name if Chrysler goes out of business or bankrupt!!!?

I need to know what others think out there …

I’ve owned 3 Cherokees (XJ) and 2 Grand Cherokees

Currently own a 1998 Teal/Blue XJ CHEROKEE 4WD 5SPD 4 doors 4.0 I6 NEW RARITY as I’ve heard – Try searching for a manual 4wd Cherokee above a 97 and see how many you find…(autotrader or any other)

I do NOT want Jeep to go out of business just because of a stupid car company … They have been switched from so many other companies and I feel "JEEPERS" need to take over the company and restructure the JEEPS and get rid of LIBERTYS / COMMANDERS and GO BACK to the SQUARE BODY and BRING ME BACK MY I6 CHEROKEES
Yes I know they are already Bankrupt…

Yes I know Fiat "maybe" wants to take them over… but what will it mean for JEEP if they don’t?

New CEO should listen to REAL JEEPERS for once !

Who knows. Any answer here is speculation.
Maybe Ford will take over Jeep again for a while.
Mitsubishi produces Jeeps across the ocean.

Cherokees are "real" Jeeps? I thought me and my Wrangler brethren had the real ones :)

I wrote a whole paper about this in school. I did a 5 page report about Jeep, how it came to be, the jeep wave, how it was sold 5 times, and all the models and engines that they came with. I will save it tomorrow and bring it home.

obviously you feel strongly about this subject well let me say this, the name JEEP has been around since about the 40’s (or earlier). AMC,FORD,CYRSTLER, they’ve all owned that name. I don’t think the "name" will ever go away, there are too many people that connect with that name, and all the aftermarket vendors depend on the Jeep name for revenue. Yes, we as dye heart jeepers should have a say, but the reality of it is we don’t, its called politics. We just keep buy the jeeps we love, and eventually the new ones that aren’t as popular will fade out and we’ll see the older styles come back. (which is great). IMO Jeep isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. so i wouldn’t worry about it!
