I recently changed my first name & my original name is now my middle so pretty much the same, i have updated my drivers license but not my social security card, would i be able to file bankruptcy under my old name on my social security card? or do i have to update it? also if i update it all my past tax forms have my old name so thats why i just wanted to file under my old name…
I can’t open bank account because I filed bankruptcy. The banks will not accept because of that. I have been looking for alternatives and while googling I found a thing known as "online account". They say that to open online checking account, i make opening deposit with credit card. Whatever I pay with credit card is my online bank balance. And that then they will mail me checkbook to my house. For depositing check, they said I should scan and email them the check I want to deposit. And that they will use those scans to process the deposit. They say they will also send visa check card through mail, and it can be used at any ATM. Is this scam or real? The online check account site says initial deposit must be 500 dollars using credit card or western union. Is this real or scam?

I intend to use definitions in my final paper. I think that doing so will benefit my essay and its readers, allowing my readers to fully understand the papers true meaning with definitions. It helps the readers to understand what the essay is trying to say and what the main points are trying to convey.
I have chosen to write an essay explaining why Americans should not to rely solely on social security as they retirement benefits. If my essay turns out to be successful, it will convince the readers to start investing in their own personal savings. To do this I will need to state why social security and its funds are slowly dwindling away in my essay. A definition essay will also supply much needed detail on examples that readers may not understand right away about the topic. Detail in an essay should be very important to any writer. Writers make sure that every essay they write includes plenty of detail instead of gloss. Sharp details pull the reader in and encourage them to read more; fine details also help build a stronger case for the point of view so including them in my essay will make my readers share my feelings toward social security. I hope to include resources from the Internet to back up my points further and fully explore options on finding other ways to start saving personal funds for retirement.

I think simply writing out comparisons can help the person create the bulk of his/her essay very quickly. Pre writing helped me to create my essay; by pre-writing I mean taking a piece of paper and writing down the advantages and disadvantages of depending on social security and alternate retirement plans. This will also help them to decide for yourself whether you can meet your needs rely remotely on social security when you retire or if you want to be proactive in finding funding options. In my case I am neither too young nor too old to consider looking into options for my retirement. One should much rather start investing money better to protect themselves in the future.
My husband died last month and I lost his Social Security Disability. I am going to lose the house. My pay was cut last year by 10 percent due to the economy. I owed the IRS over 0K from back when I was framing houses from 1995 to 2006. Over 100 of my workers (filled as subcontractors) did not have a social security number and now I am responsible for their taxes so-to-speak. I called an out of state tax attorney from a television commercial and for K he got the debt (liability) reduced down to 9K. That was back in ‘06-’07.

I have been sick over a year. I have been battling it out with social security and have not received any income since my illness. I do not own any property, not even a car. It got repossessed during my illness. I had to break my lease and stop paying my credit cards. My total debt is around 80K. My credit is devastated. I found out my former landlord intends on getting a judgement. I have no money, but am allowed to live for free right now because of my parents. I’m 26. I went to law school for 2 years before I got sick. I bought a NOLO book on bankruptcy, but it seems like the process is stressful and confusing. I don’t have the money to hire an attorney. Nobody else has tried to sue me yet. My family said they would pay up to 2K for a bankruptcy lawyer as like a birthday/christmas present, but I feel bad because they have already been paying for so much (my medical bills, me living in their house). Should I file this myself, wait, or get the attorney? There is no way I can pay all these people back at this point.

I recently applied for an apartment for rent by private owner. I provided my personal information when filling out the rental application. I now feel the woman never had plans to rent the place, and is using an "apartment for rent" as a front to obtain the personal information of others to commit fraud.
It turns out, my co-worker happens to know this woman personally, and says she recently filed bankruptcy, does not own the property, and was renting it from a relative.
What should I do? If the above is true, she’ll deny we met. This woman has my social security number, personal information, and more. Is there any way to tell when someone pulls your credit to apply for an apartment? I don’t think those type of credit inquiries appear on credit reports.
What should I do to prevent fraudulent behavior? There are Michigan laws protecting landlords, what about those for tenants?
ok. this all started when me and my boyfriend bought a new home (in his name by the way, i barely own anything). i needed credit cards for some shopping.. towels, silverware.. that sorta thing. i recently couldn’t afford my credit cards because social security was deducting money from my monthly check. credit card charges went sky rocket. now i have unpaid credit cards and will need to go bankrupt. my question is, now that i have my money straight, but cannot afford to pay on the past credit cards due to all the charges, will i get in trouble for getting another credit card if i wait and file bankruptcy in a couple of months. i just want a credit card to do Christmas shopping with and i plan on paying this one. also, if i pay on this new credit card(s) will i need to let my lawyer know about them. if you know of a credit card that will accept me with bad credit please let me know. also give me some advice on what i should do and if getting a new credit card is a bad idea. thanks for all your help.
We have been married 30 years. 10 years ago he had a brain aneurysm at the age of 47. Docs say he should have died as they had never seen anyone live with this type of aneurysm. They had to inquire around the world to figure out how to operate so he didn’t just lay there and bleed out in his head. They received some ideas and they operated and he recovered quite well to everyone’s surprise. No short term memory though. 5 years ago he had meningitis & a staph infection in his brain. This set him back quite a bit. Over the last 5 years he has deteriorated in that I am back to helping him with personal care and everything else in his life. I am completely responsible for everything in our lives. We had to file bankruptcy after the aneurysm and we lost our home and everything else. I have worked hard these 10 years to get our credit back and to buy another home for us. My mortgage is cheaper than our rent was. He walks unsteadily with a hemi walker but often has to use his wheelchair. He was diagnosed a year ago with a melanoma in his eye and the optic nerves in his other eye are deteriorating so he does not see detail anymore. In the last 5 years my health has suffered greatly. I believe it is the stress of taking care of him. He has short term memory loss but he is still "with it". There is little decrease in brain function so its not like he is out of it and wouldn’t know. I have talked to him about it many times but he gets all teary so I stop. 5 minutes later he doesn’t remember talking about it. I get no help from our children or his family or mine. They all say just ask but when I do there is always a reason why they cannot help. I am not interested in finding a new man or anything like that. I just want to get healthy again and not have my life totally consumed with his care. I have looked into help at home but it would cost me 0.00 a month and we cannot afford it. he receives social security disability as do I. I also receive a pension from my past employment but he was self employed all his working career so he has no pension. Anyone have any ideas that can help me? I pray on this all the time but I never seem to come up with an answer that I am positive about. HELP!
My life wasn’t so peachy when I was young. My family went from the Leave it Beavers to Tragedy real quick. But to start with In my early childhood; I had a great family life.
Because of an accident, my father lost control his mind we went bankrupt during his many visits in and out of the state hospital.
He had constant hallucinations and an altered state of reality. He did many things "unaware" that shamed himself, and all his family. The doctors tried very hard to help regain control of reality but ultimately he ended up as a permanent mental disability case.
As a kid in school some of the embarrassing things my father did made me a constant target of bully’s. I took no pride in fighting but had to almost everyday just to make the 2 mile walk I made home everyday after school. Just punk kids and their lack of knowledge, trying to make a name for themself. It seemed like the more I beat up defending my self, the more I had to fight. To this day, I never have lost a fight. But I never started any either. So anyways..
My mother lost hope in my dad and was not the better woman. She left him because she said it was just too much to deal with. The varies step-dads that were in and out of her life gave me EVERY reason to HATE someone.
This HATE could have consumed me but my Lord had given me his strength. Strength above the Hate. Strength in Love
Eventually my mom found a man with some stability and money, but by then I was burned out by the previous bad choices.
So, after reaching an age where I could choose to take care of my father….15….I left my mom and
became my fathers father.
He only collected 16k a year from social security so we were very poor. We lived in a very small trailer and I remember how difficult it was to be around kids with "Normal" lives. Some of the parents mis-judged me. And even many of my friends underestimated personality and God given abilities.
These, not being known at that time, by terminology were "Gifts of the Spirit" But none the less God was teaching me even while I was unaware. His presence was always with me.
It might seems that all these troubles could have pulled me away from our LOVING HOLY FATHER, but instead it brought me closer to him. In my trails, he taught me about Love..patience…and service…..and respect. These trails affirmed for me that when you need God the MOST… You don’t have to look very hard, because if you believe what He did for you on the Cross….then he is always inside you. You do not have to rely on your own strength. His is within you. Since my childhood, my living testimony has be used to bring several people to the Lord. Can you think on anything else this story can teach others.

We got a home equity loan in June to consolidate credit card bills, another home equity line, and small construction loan. Things were fine until I was recently diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and declared disabled. I receive social security, which is currently one-half of my former salary, but only until my children graduate when it will drop to one-third. We now realize that we cannot pay for my graduate school loan (simple bank loan-not federal), the car loan, the equity loan, AND the home first mortgage. We can pay for a cheaper car and the first mortgage for the home, but not the equity loan too. Can I put SOME not all of the equity loan onto my unsecured loan to "pay it down" so that when we file bankruptcy we can afford to keep our home?
My husband has lost his job due to illness. We didn’t receive ANY money for about 8 weeks and then his disability from work finally kicked in. However it is only 60% of what his pay was.
We now have to move back to our home state so we can be around family to help us with many physical things we can’t do. They are going to foreclose on our house and we have given our car back. They have sold our car but there is still a balance of over 00 owed. When we get to our home state can we file bankruptcy for the debts we owe in the state we currently live in?

I really have no family that will help as we were never close. I have thought carefully about suicide but would anyone care? I can’t open an account to get social security why no address. Plus the banks look at you like your scum, maybe I am, they didn’t think that way when I was put 1000’s of dollars in the bank. I can’t thank everyone that took the time to answer my question. Just knowing that someone out there is thinking of you always helps. Isn’t it odd that family who really could help choose not to because you made or had some one for you make the wrong decisions in life. As for church thats a joke, I give up on them years ago. While driving to church one day I saw a young man digging in the dumpster so I stopped and feed him and also gave him as much food as he could carry. He didn’t want much because the others would steal it. I told my minister we should open the church kitchen one day a month and feed the hungry people. His answer was "someone that doesn’t deserve it might get free food". My answer thats between GOD and them. I just can’t bring myself to ask for help it is embarrassing to know you failed in life. When the money ran out so did my wife. But a BIG thanks to all of you that care…
As for the internet very easy I still have a broken down laptop and wireless so I walk to the nearest in town motel and set by the back door and wahla, internet for free.You can also go to the truck stop and use theres. Maybe that’s stealing I hope not. But why is it the illegals in this country can qualify all the things I can’t? I hate to lie so filling out forms with false statements goes against my teachings.
