What can you do if someone declares Chapter 7 Bankruptcy?
I installed a garage door, for a women who was doing it for her boyfriend’s birthday. She gave me her bank card for payment. When the card was run there was insufficient funds. I tried contacting her only to find her mailbox full. When I repeatedly went to the home, to find no one there, I left the outstanding invoices with the applicable service charges. Then today, I receive a fax copy of my outstanding invoice.
She has written across it:
"Sorry, had to file Bankruptcy Ch 7 on debts. Will pay when able promise! Sorry again!" She also included the file #.
I have not received anything from the courts. What should I do?
