My girlfriend and her husband are considering on filing Bankruptcy, but wanted to know exactly how it appears on their credit report? He already has a Foreclosure, Repossesion and countless of other delinquencies.Anyway, when he files for Chapter 7 will all those deliquent accounts be removed and the only thing appears on the report would be BANKRUPTCY or will it still reflect those creditors in addition to Bankruptcy? I think it would but that’s just my guess anyway if anyone here has filed and saw how it’s reflecting on their report, please reply.

First off I am in shape, go to a top university, and have an amazing girlfriend. This is not about me.

How can you teach or punish a teenager infatuated with LIBERAL SPENDING that when you buy on credit its NOT your money?

The teenager has gotten a "bail out" from his parents TWO TIMES and he has not learned his lesson!

He applies for a lot of credit, goes on a spending spree, charges 2 or 3 cards to the near max leaving one open then he says that he will pay the cards back "when he gets a job over the summer."

The first time he accumulated ,000 of credit card debt, the second time ,000 of debt!

Now he got a new line of credit and has already accumulated ,500 dollars on it in less than 2 months!

I say that his parents SHOULD NOT pay the balance and let him file for BANKRUPTCY!

How else can he learn his lesson!?

I guess his parents never taught him finance as a kid!

Let this be a lesson to parents everywhere who think that their kids are "too young to learn about money."
The person is 19 but acts like a 15 year old!!!

Lately I have been overcome with feelings of severe depression and have gotten to a point where I just don’t care about life anymore.

Where should I start? I am in my mid 40’s. I am divorced. I lost my job when the company I worked for filed bankruptcy. After being out of work for almost 1 full year, I finally did get a job. The money is terrible. I am making the same as I was back in 1997! Financially, I am short each month by about 0-0 on basic living expenses. My credit card balances keep going up cause yea, I am basically living on my credit cards.
The job I have sucks. I work in a call center and basically am cursed out, yelled at and screamed out all day.
I am totally alone. I have no girlfriend and have been single for 4 Years now. I haven’t even gone on a date in 2 1/2 years because I don’t have the money and cant afford it. As I mentioned, I am 0-0 per month short NOW–How can I add the expense of dating to that? My idea of a big night is picking up a couple of burgers at Jack in the Box on a Friday and watching a movie at home. (That will surely drive the ladies wild!) I don’t have the money to go out and meet someone, or even join an online dating service.

The things I used to enjoy doing I no longer have any interest in. I love Baseball, but have lost interest in that. I love to read and write–but cant focus on that. I have 2 small dogs that I love, but I don’t even bother playing with them anymore. I don’t even care about my appearance. We have a casual dress code at my job and I show up in torn jeans, old t-shirts and a 3 day beard.

I did spend 3 days in a ‘hospital’ for observation last year. I was determined to get help and get my life in order. But my insurance does not cover appointments to speak with a mental health professional and I don’t have the money to do that. I’ve checked for low costs clinics in my area but none can be found cause I work unusual hours at my job. I do take an anti-depressant (Xanax) and asked my DR if she could increase the dosage. She refused. I don’t have any brothers or sisters. I really don’t have any close friends anymore. The reason for that is my depression and negativity–and I don’t blame them. Who wants to around someone who is down and depressed and quiet all the time. My relationship with my parents is decent–at best.

Will I attempt suicide? No. I don’t have the nerve to do it and knowing my luck, I’d only fail at that, too, and wind up arrested. Or as a vegetable. I do take prescriptions meds for high BP and cholesterol but have begun to cut down/cut them out altogether. A couple months back I stopped taking my cholesterol pills. After about a week, I started getting dizzy and not feeling right. Stupidly, I got scared and resumed taking them. Call it a ‘reverse’ suicide if you will. I have once again stopped as I continue to push my health. I am smoking more. driving faster and more recklessly.

Suggestions? Oh–and please dont say something like ‘talk a walk’ or ‘pray.’ I am not religious at all

I have a Student Loan that is effecting my credit which is now Cal Aid my girlfriend says I should file for bankruptcy. What will happen if I do that? and who do I go to to get it done? Will it effect my good credit I do have or get? will effect my bank accounts I have? I do not have a house so i am not worry about mortgage. I can stay on my mother property until 7 yrs is up get a house,right? I just want to have my own apartment for now until I get my section 8 or when I get it, and I am waiting on my attorney to tell me my court date b/c I file for disablement so when I win my case I can afford to have my own apt or house.

O.k i filed bankruptcy about a week ago and I dont know how long it takes before my dischare meeting. Im desperate for a car? I had a previous car but it was reposessed by the bank about a month ago. My lawyer told me that if i go finance another car then at my discharge meeting they might not clear me from all my debts? Is this True? How soon should i wait to get a car becuase I am really in need of one. After my discharge or when i recieve the letter that my debt is cleared. Also my girlfriend is willing to finance the car for me, but wants to know that when i’m done with the whole "bankruptcy thing" will my credit be so bad that i wont be able to take over the payments. please any info is very helpful.

This year has been extraordinarily difficult and I’ve had to use the money that I was setting aside for property taxes which are due in Jan and Feb. They give you till the end of Feb to pay without penalties. Credit cards and title loans aren’t an option, those have already been tapped this year as has the Roth which was depleted anyways because of previous problems years ago. About the best I could hope for would be to borrow against my 403b but again due to serious problems a few years ago (including being told I would be dead within two to five years by Doctors), I never amassed anything significant there and actually nearly lost track of having it. It would only be enough for maybe half of the property taxes. There isn’t any equity in the home that can be drawn on, I’ve only had it for a year and aside from antique computers, I have nothing to sell. There’s a benefits retirement program but because I had a backup job that reactivated the program when I lost my job in April, I can’t touch that money at all unless I quit my job. Also that money may have gone into the State lost funds thing because I lost track of a lot when I was really sick a few years ago. So now with maybe four months max to save up for property taxes, which means it isn’t going to happen, what’s going to happen when I can’t pay the full bill by the end of Feb? Should I file for forebearance from the mortgage company? The Obama MHA would require an escrow for the taxes to be established, if I can’t save up enough for that by the end of Feb, how could I establish an escrow for that amount? Should I let bills go into arrears to save up for the taxes? Should I just declare chapter 13 bankruptcy?
I should probably add that I’ve lost a third of my income. I had a backup job already arranged when I lost my job in April but it was at two thirds the pay with better benefits. My girlfriend also had legal problems that I sorted out for her but that has left me with a budget that doesn’t balance. I’ll make it balance somehow, I have to. But loosing one third of my wages is loosing over k. I’m in a serious negative cash flow situation. I should be able to pick up some contract work, that should bring in up to 20% more cash but that’s not a certainty. Can’t ask family, sister had a stroke and is about to declare bankruptcy if the hotel folds. Probably need a DMP to make budget work.

I’m a single male veteran with no children. I want to purchase a home and was prequalified for 110k using my VA Home Loan. My girlfriend has a very high debt to income ratio and will likely file bankruptcy due to high credit card debt. I can’t buy anything with her in that shape. I don’t have a down payment, I do have the VA benefits. Home prices are more expensive than ever. How do I purchase a home on my own? In Phoenix, AZ the housing market seems out of reach and all that is left are small "apartment condos."

Ok here is the story my friend works at this clothing store called against all odds and he got me a job working there because his girlfriend is the manager, and i been there for about three months now and still dont get any hours. i work 2 days a week and i asked her for more hours and she said she will give me more but never do and she gives my friend like 34 or more hours a week i dont know what the case might be because they go out but by law there isn’t supposed to be relationships on the job. and i asked my friend could he talk to her to get me more hours and he told me i have to work my way up when u didn’t . how can i work my way up when i only get 2 days to work a week. and they only call u to come in when somebody calls out.but the the store is supposed to be closing down in a few months because i gotta a letter in the mail saying that against all odds file for bankruptcy. what should i do about leaving this job?..because i know its not fair

I am beginning to regret going to college, it seems the only thing I have attained from it, is debt. When I went to school I was allured to the dream of being an airline pilot. I finally got my pilot’s license, but it got to expensive, so I switched to Aviation Management. I am so depressed and mad at myself for letting this happen, and it seems like there is no way out. A few times I forgot to fill out the FAFSA so I had to take out loans to cover the expenses, or I was late getting it in and got no money.

Here’s where I am at:
1 Loan for ,000 (Monthly Payments of 476/mo); 1 Loan for 620 (Monthly Payments of 128); 1 Loan for 00 (Monthly Payments of 50), and Credit Card Debt of about 00. So I have loans totaling 420.

I also have a car payment, cell phone, however I pay no rent, but my grandparents will soon be asking for that.

I just got a new job that pays me 000 per year. So if I don’t put anything into savings I can pay off my loans in about 4 years, however when you begin to figure in my other expenses it’s more like 7 years.

Consolidation is not really an option, because the 000 is an “Education Alternative Loan”, it’s not a federal loan. The 00 loan is a no interest loan. And the 620 is a direct federal loan.

-My dilemma is that, I have a girlfriend that I want to begin a life with. I wish to get an apartment with her maybe in the next year or so. And I want to marry her.

Situation 1- Do I put no money into savings and just tackle the loans head on? I will have no money for retirement or a down payment on a house.

Situation 2- I put some money aside into savings, and it will take longer to pay off?

Situation 3- Declare bankruptcy if I can?

I apologize for this taking so long, but I don’t know what to do. Thank you for your help.

So my husband and I dated for almost 5 years before we were married, my husband is the oldest of 4 boys, and closest to his mother. My husbands younger brother has been dating this girl for maybe a year, and his girlfriend kisses up to my mother in law, she showers my mother in law with gifts, she’ll go out and start her car for her and warm it up. It’s so annoying cause all I hear when my husband and I visit is how wonderful she is or what other expensive gift she bought her. It’s like I should have to go bankrupt to get her to like me, I buy her gifts when it matters…mothers day, christmas..birthdays…etc, is it just me or is my mother in law being a bit shallow, or should I make more of an effort?
