When other companies like the airlines and K-mart had problems, they filed for bankruptcy and restructured. They didn’t close their doors. Why don’t the Big 3 do the same?
I stopped by a PC Club store a few weeks ago and dropped off my laptop for repair. They told me they shipped it to their repair location in L.A. and it would take several days to get it back. They finally repaired it, but they had to send it back because they broke a panel during shipping, and said it would take a few more days to get it back again.
After I hadn’t heard from them again, I called yesterday and today to see what was going on and there was no answer. I’ve looked online to see if I can contact them, but I can’t find a way. I just read that they closed their doors yesterday and they filed for bankruptcy. Now I’m out 0 and a laptop. I don’t know where they shipped it for repair. Does any one know how I can get my laptop back? What can I do? Thank you so much!

I work at a privately owned blockbuster franchise store. We work separately from our corporate namesake. In fact all we use is their name and logo. Recently corporate stores have announced a mid September bankruptcy. So does this mean we will have to close our doors, even though we have posted decent numbers? How soon will we have to start liquidating? Will we be able to last through December?
US industry GM, Ford, Chrysler, Steel. etc were critical to America surviving and winning WW ll, Korea, etc.
These factories could be bought by Muslims with our money, then the doors shut, workers laid off, the plants dismantled and junked or shipped out of the country. With no defense left for the country, how will we feed all the poor? And stop the barbarians from sacking the country?
After 7 years employed at a firm they locked their doors last Thursday. Chapter 11 happens this week. 7/1 payroll did not happen, and I am a sales person paid upon invoice so I also lost any potentials wages on future work.

Ok, My boyfriend foreclosed on a house about 2 years ago now after trying to sell it for about 5-6 months. This all spiralled from losing his job when his company shut it’s doors. So yeah he tried everything he could to keep it and it would not sell so his only option at that point was walk away. The bank was very understandable and worked with him as best they could through it all and they told him just to move out quietly when it became obvious it was not selling and he was more and more behind.
So he moved out and never heard a thing afterwards, they never took him to court, he never recieved a notice saying he owed anything, nothing. They sold the house shortly after he moved out. He has been renting ever since and he has a very good job now.
Well, now we want to buy a house together so my question is, what should he do now? a lawyer thinks he should file bankruptcy, but its been 2 yrs (he’s not in trouble now) I think that would make things worse…
We’re not minor’s and I don’t appricate the comment about skipping payments on a rental. We’re both very smart with our money and we know how to budget, we don’t go and blow it. There are so many houses available in our area for incredable prices, this is why we are looking to buy now. We plan on Wedding in the next year or 2 but we want to get a house now while prices are good. Oh and we had talked to a mortage broker and when he did our approval he never said a thing about the foreclosure, just that his credit was in the mid range, or will that come up when we get the final actual home loan?

I do NOT want Jeep to go out of business just because of a stupid car company … They have been switched from so many other companies and I feel "JEEPERS" need to take over the company and restructure the JEEPS and get rid of LIBERTYS / COMMANDERS and GO BACK to the SQUARE BODY and BRING ME BACK MY I6 CHEROKEES

I worked for 4 months without getting paid then the doors are closed and bankruptcy is filed? I was on salary and had 10% ownership, which cost me and made me file personal bankruptcy when the company filed. What legal rights do I have? What are my options?
i had quite a lot of medical care when i had cancer and am making payments to a hospital that just filed bankruptcy and closed its doors. do i still have to make payments? i’m not even sure who i would make them to.
We are forced to close our business due to losing our main customer. We only owe one very large bill which is to an attorney whom we have already paid a lot of money to. We do not have the money to pay him after paying employees and contractors. Would we have to file bankruptcy? or if not, will we some how still have to pay him even after we close our doors?
