I am so broke. I even tried to look under the seats of my car to find enough change to buy a kid I work with a 54 cent ice cream cone he earned by good behavior and grades for 4 weeks but I did not have enough. I lied and said I forgot my money at home. So I took him to park and I owe him a ice cream next week I work for a small mental health non profit and my husband has been out of work for two years. I was able to make ends meet except for one credit card,student loan and my car. My student loan took my tax refund for the past two years but I still owe them two thousand. I had the car voluntarily repossed because I could not afford it(big mistake because now the court says owe 10000 when the loan with interest was only 6000 and I paid on it for 2 of the 4 years), The credit card got a garnishment that takes 400 a month from my pay at 25% pre tax which is more than I take home in two weeks now, and now the bank(car loan) has sued me too and wants to garnish me too but I don’t make enough for them to take anymore. I am so tired of eating peanut butter sandwiches, soup, or beans that I get from the food bank. If I could find some way to file bankruptcy I would be ok, but I have no clue where to start. Any help would be great, even the info needed to file or ask for help. I just cant do this much longer.

7 years ago filed chapter 7 (discharged). married 4 years ago but spouse passed away last year. lots of debt accumulated and was told that I should file chapter 7 again and as soon as it is discharged would be put into a no $down home loan. how true is this? i know each circumstance varies but i have no clue how these things work

I am about to take a state licensing exam, and for some pathetic reason I need to provide proof that I filed and that all debt has been discharged. I have no CLUE how to get this – do I request it from the court? Can I get it online? (it IS public record isn’t it?) My a$#@*hole attorney isnt returning my calls so Im on my own. Someone please help!

I filed BK 13 a little over two years ago. A couple of months back I learned that one of the creditors added in Schedule B is reporting the debt as a collection on the credit report. I later received a letter from a collection firm representing said creditor. I took the letter to my attorney who said "okay we’ll sue". The paralegal said that I’ll be their guinea pig since they’ve never sued anyone. Since then, my attorney is not responding to questions that I have i.e. what are we sueing for, what are the steps taken, who pays for this etc..ANY QUESTION really. I have no clue what they are doing and am being blown off by the attorney and the paralegal both who were very nice up until that point. Also, my attorney put the wrong dollar amount on the schedule B as debt for that creditor but I’m being told the amount doesn’t matter as long as the creditor is included in the BK 13 they are going to be discharged (so the amount wasn’t changed). I am concerned that after the 13 has been discharged the creditor will come after me because of my attorney’s inability or unwillingness to take care of business. Any calls or emails are being ignored. I did receive one call from one of my attorney’s employees who stated that he is filing the claim (1 1/2 weeks ago) but my question whether or not I will receive anything on paper telling me what is being done etc remained unanswered. Basically, I don’t know anything, I don’t know what to look for and/ or what to expect. What should I do ?

I live in Ohio and my chapter 7 bankruptcy has been disharged for almost a year. I am hearing now there might be trustee fees. Has any one heard of this? If there is such a thing any clue the cost?

Yea, that played a big part in it. But ultimately Greece is bankrupt because they are corrupt and didn’t cut their spending. I mean they were suppose to, but didn’t. So I have no clue why all the Euros always blame it on the global financial crisis. Other countries managed not to go bankrupt, but they kept on partying over there like it was Disneyland.

The politicians there were telling their people years ago that other countries are not responsible for another country’s debt and that they won’t bail them out. That was pretty much what they agreed on. So how come now they are bailing them out if they were saying before that they wouldn’t? I mean ultimately the richer countries give their people’s money away to Greece. Who knows if other countries follow.

So why didn’t they just kick them out? That would have been the easiest and cheapest way to get rid of the problem. If you are not consequential, it creates a moral hazard. And that is exactly what happened here. I really don’t think they should pay and am surprised how uneducated Europeans are. They always act so smart on this forum, but meanwhile their governments are giving their money away.

I purchased a house with an ex, and needless to say things didn’t work out. When I moved out, he convinced me to sign a quit claim deed. I didn’t realize I was giving up all rights to the house without being released from my financial obligations to it. Now the house is in a foreclosure auction. I have no idea what this means for me. My credit was fantastic before all this business began, but now my credit score is plumiting fast! I’ve been told I should file for bankruptcy so that I can have my name removed from the mortgage, but I feel like that would be a bad idea. Is it really my best bet? What effect does this auction have on me? The ex refuses to talk to me at all, so I have no clue what’s going on besides what I can find online regarding the auction.

if i file chapter 7 bankruptcy what can i expect to have to pay back and deal with? i have no clue about it since my parents have always had a good standing.

and before you ask, no they wont lend me the money to pay it off. Its my responsibility so they want me to man up and take action.

wil the government garnish my wages from my job? i don’t really have any personal belongings they can take from me so…. yeah any help i would greatly appreciate.
so i would need to get a lawyer as well?

I live in TN. I’ve discovered that I’m going to have to file Bankruptcy (Chapter 7). I don’t personally know of anyone who has filed Bankruptcy, so I can’t ask opinions. I look in the yellow pages & see a slew of attorney’s. I have no clue how to pick & I work & don’t have the time to have a consultation with every one of them. Is there a website that has information on lawyers, to help in picking one or maybe a site where people can type out their personal reviews of attorney’s? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!
