I had a debt with Citibank but when I was unable to pay they sent the account to New Century Financial. Citibank has no record of my account. New Century Financial is listed on my credit report as the agency I owe the alleged funds to BUT they filed bankruptcy this year. Now it seems that New Century Financial has illegally sold my information to a law firm named Pressler&Pressler. The NJ state attorney general has a lawsuit pending against Pressler&Pressler. there is also a petition with more than 700 signatures saying that Pressler&Pressler has violated their consumer rights. I have already filed complaints with the FTC and NJ attorney general.
I am not disputing that I owe it and I HAVE been trying to pay it for some time but the recent agency that is trying to collect IS VIOLATING FTC LAWS. Like i said before there is a lawsuit pending in their collection practices because they harass and threaten people. They seize bank accounts illegally, they pay off judicial clerks and they also take money and never apply it to a person account.

Im only 21 yrs old, just moved fom ny to atlanta in feb but i have alot of unpaid medical bills that my insurance didnt pick up that i cant afford to pay. I also had 2 credit cards when i was 18 and i maxed those out. Citibank is suing me for a loan i never received.i also have 3 different bank accts in collections due to id theft that wasnt fully investigated. and last but not least, i have a comcast bill that totaled to 00 b/c a family member used the phone to make international calls and refused to pay it and now lives out of the country. what kind of bankruptcy should i file if any?i have 1 car in my name that i pay the note on and my husband has a car that were paying the note on. Will my husband be included in this too?he has new credit but i know the link married people’s credit together. Someone advice…..please!!!!!

My brother is going to file bankruptcy next week. On one of his credit report there is an account that is MINE. How did it get there, i dont even have him as authorized user. (FYI we have same address, same last name). Experts tell me me not to worry about doing anything because when the court calls the creditor, (citibank) they wouldn’t have a record of having a credit card with them. I just wanted to get some comments here. Good Day
