I can’t open bank account because I filed bankruptcy. The banks will not accept because of that. I have been looking for alternatives and while googling I found a thing known as "online account". They say that to open online checking account, i make opening deposit with credit card. Whatever I pay with credit card is my online bank balance. And that then they will mail me checkbook to my house. For depositing check, they said I should scan and email them the check I want to deposit. And that they will use those scans to process the deposit. They say they will also send visa check card through mail, and it can be used at any ATM. Is this scam or real? The online check account site says initial deposit must be 500 dollars using credit card or western union. Is this real or scam?
Also that I should scan and email copy of my social security and driver license for opening of account

I have been married almost 3 years. I have 2 children under 2 yrs old. My husband has a pill problem and is a thief. He has stolen my money so many times I have had to file bankruptcy. I can’t have credit cards, a checking account, or anything. My husband always begs me to come back and I do because I love him. Earlier this year, he stole the last 0 I had and bought pills and wrecked my car. We couldn’t even pay the utilities on our house. (well, I couldn’t pay them, my husband doesn’t have a job.) So he moved in with his dad and I moved in with mine. Recently after we moved in with our dads, I found out I was pregnant. My husband got kicked out of his dads house for stealing and being on pills. He had nowhere to go so I let him stay with me to help me with our newborn daughter. Last week he was on pills again and stole some money from my dad and me so my dad kicked him out. Every time this happens he says he is done with the pills and it won’t happen again. I always take him back and this time I said he cannot stay with my dad and I. We have a house that I am still making payments on but since he doesn’t have a job I can’t pay for the house, utilities, and groceries by myself. Thats why I’m living with my dad so my kids will have water and heat. He is now telling me that he is completely done with pills. His mom is going to put him in therapy and he is going to apply for jobs and possibly go to the army. I do love him and that would be fine but I’m afraid I can’t trust him. My parents are begging me to get a divorce. But even if I do I know I will still see him alot because of the kids and that will be hard for me. When we got married I knew he already had 1 kid which was fine but since we got married he found out he has another and next month he is getting a DNA test for another, which that is really hard for me to deal with. I know he didn’t cheat on me. But if he does get a job, all his money will go to child support for these other kids? He has been put in jail more than once for back child support and is also being questioned for some residential break ins. I am afraid if I leave him I won’t find anyone else and if I did find someone else my husband would make it hell for me. I’m sure it sounds like a no brainer I wish I could turn off my feelings but I really do love this guy too much. I just wanted an outside opinion from someone that doesn’t know us. Thanks in advance
I do not have a drug problem, and when he is on drugs I do keep the kids away from him.

I am claiming bankruptcy for my credit card debt of 7,500 dollars. I am a stay at home mom now with no income. They are starting to sue me. My name is on my boyfriends checking account so I can pay the bills, buy diapers ect. He shares access to his money with me, we live together with our 1 year old daughter.
I do have a personal savings account. For years, it has had 4k in it.. in case of an emergency. When i discussed this with my attorney, he said the bank accounts never get checked. They look at my income for the past few years, which is tiny or none, and go off the bills and how much is coming in (which is negative after his pay and what money goes out for bills). He said with such a lower end case like this, with my boyfriends small income, they wont even bother to check bank accounts or savings accounts. Originally, I had thought to close my savings, and move it to another bank. He said nothing will happen and they wont check it, but if it puts me at ease, I should move it to a different bank. Any opinions? and is he correct, that no one will actually care enough to check our bank accounts>?

I for some reason heard that you can only have a certain amount in your checking account when you file bankruptcy? Is this true?
Also, should I have my work paychecks come directly to my house instead of direct deposit so the money doesn’t show in the account?

how can i pay it off when i do not make that much money. Should i file for bankruptcy or continue looking for options such as settlement co for the loans and credit card debt. Should i forget bout the checking account being overdraft
do not want to take out any more payday loans also for the last several months the account has been overdrawn almost $ 1,000.00 per month
if you write bout getting even more debt on top of other debt when will i be debt free with nothing to worry about. right now the checking account is nearly $ 800 over drafted. last month it was nearly $ 1,000.over drafted

I am already pissed at myself and feel like a complete failure for contemplating this, so save me the guff… Anyways, I lived off of my credit cards for a few years when I lost a job and had some medical issues. Prior to that, I spent like a young 20-something who wants unnecessary BS.
I have 4 cards with a combined balance of ,000. 2 credit cards have been inactive for months, and the other 2 have clothing/food purchases from 3 months ago. I have been trying to stay afloat and have paid on time for the last 10 years, trying to pay them off. My creditors have not treated me well for my loyalty and about 1 1/2 ago ( I missed my payment date by a few days), raised my minimum payment to amounts I can not keep up with. I have been paying them with my child’s child support money since I have been unable to find work. I have lost so much in my life and I was really proud of my credit. But I feel like I am in a sinking ship trying to keep up and recently seeing how much more I have to pay since I can only afford the minimums on all 4 cards really made me feel hopeless.
By all means, I am a loser: I can’t find a job, I qualify for food stamps, I am trying to finish college and can barely afford to buy textbooks, I am trying to raise a child alone, I am living off the kindness of others with no assets and about in my checking account. I am terrified of stopping paying off my cards, but I literally think this is the only way. I hesitated all these years because I wanted to be responsible, and I heard bankruptcy ruins lives. What should I do? Where do I start? Thanks for your time
Also…Looked for Bankruptcy attorneys online…How much will I have to pay one (avg)? I live in So-Cal.

I’m married but filing for Chapter 7 myself, not joint. My wife will be getting tuition reimbursement in a paycheck coming up. Can this income be deducted in the Means Test? Should we change her direct deposit so that it gets deposited into her personal checking account without my name on it? I don’t want this income to count against me as it will be used for her class tuition. Any help on this would be appreciated.

I was young, (22yrs old) had 2 jobs and made good money. I decided to trade in my old junk of a car and buy a brand new car. I had no credit history so my then bf helped co-sign for my new car. My interest was sky high but I didn’t care at the beginning because I had no idea what I was doing. I paid a very large amount per month and then after about a year, I lost my main job. A few months after that, I lost my other job. I now was collecting unemployment and went through HELL to make sure that car was paid off every month. I started making late payments and my life was just a mess because not only did I have to pay for that car, I had the insurance, rent, etc. I was no longer able to pay my car and that day came when Mr. repo came knocking on the door. They took my car after 2 years of me working my butt off and they auctioned it off for SO cheap (almost had a heart attack at how much they sold it for!)
This was in 2008 and 2 years later, I’m still struggling financially in more ways than a hundred lol…I have really bad credit, I can’t even open a bank account and I feel like my once so organized and amazing life is now totally off track. I don’t know what to do. These are my questions:
1. If I open a bank account, can my lender seize all my money? Not a savings, a checking account.
2. Being that I did not pay the upside down on the car (,000) should I file for bankruptcy and is it too late to do that after 2 years? And for those who want to suggest that I pay off the 16 grand, I’m not because I’m not going to pay for a car I don’t have anymore and you might say well you’re stuck with it you should have never bought a car you can’t afford I don’t want to hear it because you don’t know my story. I want serious answers, not answers that are going to sound mean and not help.
If there is anything that I’m missing? Please, any advise would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance

Im getting ready to file bankruptcy and I am filing on my Chase credit card and I was told that Chase might freeze my money on my checking account when they hear about this. I know they have the same name but can they really do that and should I really close my account?

My checking account was garnished and my dad paid the balance to get the account reactivated. The bank is holding onto the money till the 15th of Jan when it is due to be released. If I actually file for bankruptcy before the money is due to be released is there a chance I can get it back since it hasn’t been turned over to them. I live in Missouri if that helps any lawyers.

My wife was an employee of a coffee shop who was given a company credit card. The company filed bankruptcy and the card was part of the bankruptcy. Now the bank is coming after her to pay the card off. We received a letter stating that they were withdrawing K from our checking account to put towards the card. If the company receives some insurance money for that card, can they also try to get more money from her?

Ok let’s say you have both an unsecured credit line with your bank and a checking account. If you file backruptcy do you have to close your checking account, or does the bank close the checking account. If the bank does close the account what happens to the monies in the checking account?
Thanks!

We are in process of filing for bankruptcy, my lawyer advised us to switch our checking account to a new bank, I have applied online at 2 banks (compass & us bank) and been declined? Any suggestions from people who have faced this before?

Hi, I am a 27 year old single mother and I am wondering if there is any way that I can still save my credit. When I was 18 I went crazy with credit cards and when I was about 19 I lost my job and was not able to pay any of them back. I got to a point where I just gave up because I thought I would never be able to pay them back. I am constantly receiving bills from law firms and one of them has even frozen my checking account.
I am finally in a place in my life where I can afford to pay all of them back (I figured the total amount I owe is probably around 11K) but I am wondering if it is worth it or if I should file bankruptcy. I would like to purchase a house in about 5 years so I need to get this settled. Any advice?

We have a Bank of America checking/saving account with some money in it (not a lot). We also have bank of america credit cards with thousands of dollars on them (we’ve used them to that point I mean). If we file for bankruptcy, can we keep the checking account we’ve had for 17 years?
