I own a home in which I am willing giving up due to my circumstances. I became deaf. Since then, I have been unable to find a job. I have been living off of unemployment which is not enough to pay my mortgage. When I tried to send partial payments, they returned my payments. I was given a forbearance but that did not waive the amount I was behind which is over 12 months now. My unemployment is running out and though I am capable to continue to work in my field with reasonable accommodations, or even outside my field, I am not getting any job offers.

I have 20K to use towards prepayment for rent, food, etc, for a little while….to help by more time for me to search and find a job.

I have a few credit cards, one is up to date on the payments, several medical bills, student loans, unemployment payments that I need to repay in a different state, about 00. Back when my credit was good, I was a victim of identity theft which is why internet accounts, credit cards and wireless phone accounts were opened in my name. I tried disputing the items that were not mine but only 1 thing was removed.

Will Chapter 7 Bankruptcy help me? Will they try to take the little money that I have to live off of. I also have 3 paid off vehicles.
I AM NOT YELLING. JUST WANT TO MAKE THIS MORE CLEAR FOR ALL TO READ. I DO NOT HAVE A JOB, I DO NOT HAVE MONEY TO MAKE MONTHLY PAYMENTS ON ANYTHING RIGHT NOW SO CONSOLIDATION IS OUT THE QUESTION. GETTING SIDE LOANS IS OUT THE QUESTION. NO NEED TO SUGGEST SUCH. THANKS.

Being unemployed and out of savings- should I file chapter 7 Bankruptcy to rid me of all my debts?
If I do this will I lose my home? Its worth less than my mortgage at this point in time!

my friend file a chapter 7 bankruptcy in 2005 and has now been out of work for a year and a half.
Is it to early for him to be able to file for bankruptcy? what’s the time frame from being able to file for another bankruptcy I guess, is what I want to know? and if chapter 7 the best one for him?

Are judgements discharged in chapter 7 bankruptcy. Example if you were evicted from an apartment or house. Also if you own your vehicle will they take that or do you get to keep it? And how long does it take for your credit score to improve and for you to be able to apply for credit again?

I filed a chapter 7 bankruptcy a few days ago,ok. I have paid my fee’s in full so does that mean im good, im in bankruptcy until I go to court and get discharge, they dont have to approve it do, they and if they do should my attorney have told me if I didnt have enough debt first, and tell them that they wont approve it. I havent extablished any new debt in about a year, and i got to much so fast that it over welmed me, so I couldnt pay any of it. I have been leting it ride until I had the money to pay my attorney in full so i could get a case number, so i should be good right since my attorney took my money

i dont really understand how bankruptcy works im 20 yrs old and i am stuck in a bind where i have to. i was in the army for 3 years when i got out of the army i had no where to go so i moved in with a friend i let my car go to the bank but i still owe them so i am going to file for bankruptcy i owe like 22 000 left on the car and i have collections to like 4 places i was one of those teenagers that blew all their money and let it get out of hand, i am currently unemployed but i want to file for a chapter 7 bankruptcy but every where i call its like 1000 dollars and i dont have that kind of money so i kinda need to know what i should do???

My attorney just filed my petition for chapter 7 bankruptcy and I am going to a meeting of creditors in about 4 weeks. Do I continue paying on the loans i wish to reaffirm and try to catch them up (I am currently 1 payment behind on my car and i want to keep it) or do I wait until the meeting of creditors and just reaffirm? After reaffirmation will i have to catch up what i was behind, or do they just add what i was behind to the loan and allow me to make regular payments again?

I am going to file chapter 7 bankruptcy and I have a joint credit card between myself and my son. What I would like to do is keep the credit card so I still have something for emergencies after I file bankruptcy. Do I have to list the joint account when filing bankruptcy? Because I would like to keep it open and keep making the payments as usual, and if I did list it could that effect my sons credit, even if he makes the payments, since he is joint on the account,?

I have in the last 3 years has a VERY significant decrease inincome and am seeking to file for Chapter 7 Bankruptcy. I have spoken with several attorneys who have all determined that I do qualify to file for Chapter 7… My question is this… Is an attorney required? What is the least expensive way to file for bankruptcy? I ask because the least expensive quote I received was approximately 00 which I cannot afford. If I could afford a chunk payment of 00 I think I’d be more likely to pay off my debts than to file bankruptcy…yah know? Anyone have any suggestions?

i filed chapter 7 bankruptcy in 1999 jointly with my wife. it’s still on my credit report for another year. i have 40000 grand in credit card debt again.i know the laws have changed for bankruptcy.can i file jointly again and still reaffirm my mobile home loan and keep my crappy cars that are paid off,but they are badly damaged by hail so probably worthless. basically am i allowed to file chapter 7 bankruptcy again?

He filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy with his wife this past fall. While we were married, we bought the car I am driving now, I am the primary borrower, he is the secondary. The title says me OR him and he was not required to sign in order for me to register here (I moved out of state for a year after the divorce then came back). I tried calling my leinholder (Chase) but they won’t refinance and my credit now sucks because I was out of work (right when I moved out of state) due to a broken leg.

I have been making my payments on time (for the last year almost) but am too scared to call Chase and ask them. I realize I should ultimately call a lawyer but figured I could gain some insight here. I have gotten a few notices from his laywer, listing myself along with the rest of his creditors. He owes me nothing – and in our divorce the papers say we were to take the cars we were presently driving, but neither was listed by make/model etc.

Can/will they repo my car? PS – I live in NH.
I was thinking perhaos because his name is also on the loan they’d take it…
