I have bad hypochondria. I developed this 3 years ago and it’s pretty bad. I’m constantly fearing that I will catch some disease and die or that I will move my body or eat wrong and choke to death or break an internal organ. Most of my fear is of having a heart related problem. I don’t go out anymore and I stay inside so that nothing bad happens, like getting in a car accident. If someone mentions an accident or death of a loved one it makes me both sad and very scared and I have a panic attack. I spend hours looking up symptoms online and I now have to file bankruptcy because of medical bills for doctors visits for minor illnesses when I didn’t have any health insurance. I want to go teach english abroad for a year but I don’t know how I can when I can’t even barely leave the house outside of work. I’m afraid I’ll get ill and die in a foreign country.

Car accident with no insurance, over ,000 in debt, what should I do?
I was leasing an ‘07 BMW and back in November of 2008 I was in a car accident a few days after my insurance ran out. I paid for my insurance up front the last time for a year, therefore because of some circumstances, I was unaware that it ran out when it did. Not saying it wasn’t my fault, but that’s the truth.
Anyway, like I said I was in an accident and it was MY fault. The other guy had a Saab and the damages to his car were about ,000. The damages to my car were about the same. Bmw has sent me a couple letters, but I haven’t spoken to them yet. I made a plan with the other guy’s insurance lawyers to pay them like 0 a month for the next twenty-some-odd years! I am definitely not in the same financial situation that I used to be in (it’s a long story). I’m basically broke. I want to know if anyone has any advice as far as filing for bankruptcy goes? Can I even file for bankruptcy under something like this? Or will I completely lose my license? Or do I have some other option to lower something? I am unemployed and have no assets. I am only 22. Someone please help me with some advice! I was stupid, I want to change, thank you for not judging me and giving some positive advice.

Single mom was ill due to car accident and then stroke. Health got better and she went back to work after 4 years. Had to file bankruptcy and it was dismissed.Have 4 kids. One just finished first year of college. received from a personal injury settlement. I am receiving some money and my two children 11yrs old and 13 yrs old are receiving some money from a car accident. Can the bankruptcy court take their share of the money or is it protected. We will be filing a Chp 7 bankruptcy in about 1 month.

A few years ago, about the year 2006, I had a car accident. My insurance was canceled because they didn’t get the payment on time. I hit one SUV and got hit by a diesel truck. I had my drivers license taken away because of that. I was supposed to get my license back a year later when it was suspended again. This time there was a judgment for me to pay ,000 for damages to the SUV that i hit. I didn’t get a letter saying i need to appear in court, and by the time i got the letter saying i need to pay the fine, it was too late to repeal it. I can not get my license back until i pay that fine. Will I be able to file bankruptcy to write it off and get my license reinstated or do i have to pay the ,000?

I have at least -10,000 in collection debt. I was in a car accident last year that my insurance refused to cover so there’s additional medical and court costs added on there somewhere. I have no job, no license to get to work ro anywhere. I want to file bankruptcy but I keep hearing there are all types of fees and payments. I have {content}. No savings or checking, I own no house or car. Nothing. Someone please direct me in the right place? There has to be some place out there that helps people in my situation. I live in Chicago IL if that makes a diffrence. And I have searched online and got no where.

My wife got in a car accident with a semi truck. Those roaches claimed 68K to their insurance agency. Our insurance only covers 25K. After the fact of what the 25K will pay for we’re getting sue papers for 30K. Can we file bankruptcy now or do we have to go to court first to get the judgment then file bankruptcy? YES YES YES I know how long it will be on our credit and all that but I we could care less. We don’t want to pay for a BMW and not drive one.

Also, all I own is a 1972 chevy truck (not restored, worth 2,500), no house, no savings account.

When we filed for bankruptcy last year, our bankruptcy attorney asked us if we had any pending lawsuits. We replied with a yes, as I had to hire a personal injury lawyer cause of a car accident we were in. We were forced to get a lawyer because of the extensive medical bills…the insurance company of the at-fault driver refused to pay any of our bills…my medical bills were over ,000 & growing with my treatment and Dr’s. didn’t know when I’d be finished receiving treatment. With us already paying some of the bills out of pocket, it got to the point were forced into bankruptcy….there was no other way. We were told by the trustee and our bankruptcy lawyer that all monies received from the personal injury case would have to be applied toward the creditors in the bankruptcy. So in the end…these are the figures…

Leaving ,000+ to creditors. Could we have lied & gotten all of the ,000 w/out getting caught

I have about 00 in credit card dept and another 6 in medical. Its not that I didn’t pay on them its that I was in a car accident and my medical went into collections and messed my credit up and when I went to do a balance transfer I was denied..so I couldnt make my minimum payments when my rates went up after the initial 6 months. I would make what I could every month but adventually I couldnt keep up. HSBC would not work with me and sent me into collections. I was very supprised they woldnt work something out other than 0 payments per month. should I file for bankruptcy? I wont ever be able to make good at this point with my income and financial standing. I am not willing to go through a 800 credit debt program I work for a financial institute and they said you end up paying way more than what you owe this way. What other options do I have?

I was in a car accident in july, but have no idea how long the settlement will take. The guy that hit us had no insurance, so my lawyer said i half to sue my own insurance company. If i file for chapter 7 bankruptcy can they take my entire settlement? It will cost 1100 bucks to file for bankruptcy, which i will half to make payments on. If i get my settlement before im done paying for bankruptcy, can they still take it? Is there anything i can do??

Ok, i am getting sued by another person as result of a car accident. I was under the impression my insurance was still current but turns out, it had expired, so i had no insurance to cover thier accident. I have 3 questions regarding this 1) when you have insurance, aren’t you covered agaisnt uninsured moterists? 2) if i declare bankruptcy will it eliminate the money they sue me for if they end up going through with everything? and 3) do i possible have any options or alternatives? I refinanced my house through Ocwen in 2002 just before a major surgery to help with cost that I knew I would incur during the no work time. They told me one thing on the phone and when it came to signing, the paper work was nothing like what they offered me on the phone, but at the time is was only one week before surgery so I went ahead and signed. Since then I struggled and finally last year I was able to pay off my 2nd mortgage and all credit cards. The only bill left was the mortgage, since I paid off my vehicle the year before. November of last year I was in a bad car accident that totaled my vehicle. After receiving the check from the insurance company I purchased a used 2008 Dodge Advenger for 15,000 with 6,500 down on a 36 month loan. (Trying to stay debt free). Well December comes in and on the 2nd I was informed that layoffs would begin that week and sure enough two days later I got the call not to come in. This was a big surprise, since my company received records profits just the quarter before. Anyway I feel really bad, but I just cannot handle the mortgage payments anymore and I have tried everything to get the mortgage company to do something. They say I do not make enough for them to be able to help me. I am currently spending three hundred every month more than I am bringing in. My savings is now gone and starting to use credit cards again. And at this point I have a good chance of getting a job outside of Michigan, but if I do get the Obama modification I have to stay here with no hope of a job. Things just look worse at my company each month.
Will I be able to keep the car even though there is some equity in it? And can I let the house go this way with no reprecussions? I feel bad, but I also feel they took advantage of me when I was in a bad situation. And I have had the house on the market for over three years with not even a glimmer of hope. Thanks in advance for any and all advice. For those who like to talk down about people that file bankruptcy I pray you never find yourself in this situation. Current situation:
