Need a prepaid Mastercard that can be used for all types of purchases, including ONLINE and BILL PAYMENT.?

Generic Mastercard gift cards purchased in retail stores are great, except that most online merchants (or bill payees) require a billing zip code. Our small business was giving out small quantities of prepaid personalized "incentive" cards each month which worked perfectly… until recently when the company we were using to purchase these cards filed bankruptcy and left us with unfunded cards we’d already paid for. Since then I’ve been searching for an alternative but haven’t found one. I spoke with a rep at a major company today who told me that the kind of card we WERE getting will now be hard to find because they aren’t profitable for the issuers. What we’re looking for doesn’t have to be personalized or reloadable, but we need two features for sure: adjustable denominations & ability to verify cardholder information for online purchases or bill payment. Hope someone can help!

Can a creditor force you to pay them after filing bankruptcy?

I think most creditors are notified when a bankruptcy is filed & are given a certain amount of time to respond and refuse to accept the bankruptcy.
Can they still force you to pay them or turn the account into collections, when the bankruptcy is final and, they didn’t respond to the initial court notice?

When should a wife just walk away and never look back?

I am married to a man 14 years older than me and we have been married almost ten years & I married him at age 20. Through the ten years he was very mean, cold, and aloof but I had my reasons for staying mainly because I had a sick child with him and no help or place to go. I never stopped trying to work on my marriage & I never cheated. As our ten year anniversary approaches I am seriously considering leaving now. Although, he isn’t as monstrous as he was, he is still not loving or affectionate but more so nicer than what he used to be.

I thought things had gotten so much better between us & that there was hope. I stuck with this man through everything from him just filing bankruptcy to him being diagnosed with high blood pressure. I have catered to him and fought off bill collectors & so much more! However tonight I discovered something very hurtful.
He began attacking me earlier in the day by saying I don’t clean the house and this and that. To make a long story short I figured out how to open his work phone that he locks and I checked his text messages just to find a woman saying good morning sunshine last night was great and this morning was OMG with a smiley icon next to it. He was home all night and this morning but he knew the person because the number was programmed into his phone under a business name WALMART. Then another woman wrote and said that she can’t let 2009 go by without telling him she luvs him and how much he means to her life. He did not even delete it so it must have meant something to him. After giving my all I think its time to say screw him and his finance’s, his blood pressure and his whorish ways. I want to finally live for my child and myself. I have never lived before and now I know how much I don’t mean to him: )

How can I stop a checking account garnishment when I have filed for bankruptcy?

I live in Michigan & recently went through a divorce, foreclosure, and was laid off at work. For the past year, I have been unemployed & then am currently temping.

My ex-husband declared bankruptcy and basically, our second mortgage wasn’t foreclosed on (it was a different bank than the first mortgage) and that entire balance is now my responsibility. It’s over ,000. I was served last summer and then in Feb 2009 my MI State Income Tax refund was garnished. Now, I received a writ of garnishment from the court and it was sent to me FROM my old credit union. THEY were served with papers on 6-18-09 and thankgod, the account was CLOSED so they could not pull money from the account.

I am fearful that now, they will get to my CURRENT bank & possibly my staffing company where I work.

I checked my current bank acct. and there is still a positive balance but what should I do? Close this account?

NOTE: I secured a bankruptcy attorney and paid in full within the first week. I was given a first draft and returned that to them over 3 weeks ago. I am awaiting a SECOND draft. It has not yet been filed with the courts. Am I not protected yet? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Does my attorney for a chapter 7 bankruptcy have to give me a complete copy of my file upon request?

The attorney is my brother. He didnt do a complete job so there are omissions I need to fix. Also, my stepmother had an "irrevocable trust" established for her home and just before the filing they changed it so that my brother was the only benneficiary. I was unaware of this and my brother told me I didnt have to disclose the trust anyway. The day after the hearing, my brother sent the court, again without my knowledge, paperwork about this trust. My brother was was very nervous about this. Also, a few years earlier, my father sued me for money he gave as a gift. I was going through depression and didnt have a lawyer. I went to court and negociated with my fathers attorney to put the money in escro as he had a lean on my house that I needed to sell. They tricked me because I never went before the judge and they claimed I didnt show up so I lost by default. I didnt receive a copy of our aggreement and it was never filed. Father & brother were in working together. crazy story, but true

Should you consider filing Bankruptcy if you have an overwhelming amount of debt in credit cards?

If you have debt including car loan, credit cards, and other misc debts more than the amount you make in a year or more is filing Bankruptcy the best option? I am young with a child and have accumulated so much debt making bad decisions and now I have to face the situation sooner or later. There really isnt any other option I can think of besides consolidationg or a debt management plan and if I were to consider a program like that I would be able to afford that. I am young and I figure if I was to file BK and get a fresh new start things will get better for me. but then I will have to face the penalties of filing BK and after that your credit score is ruined and alot of companies try to charge you an arm & leg with rates and everything. Eventually I want to buy a home dont want to have to rely on people for a co-signer everytime I will need credit. I sure can say this is a learning experience. Please respond if you fell you have good advice in this situation.

How Could Everyone Have Fallen For OPEC Trap?

I just was watching news ticker on bloomberg channel and it says ”that oil is expected to rally/go up to or higher before mid-summer because of demand rebounding. What is all of this nonsense when we are in a global recession, people losing their jobs left and right,’’supposed to be conserving energy”,’’supposed to switch on to alternative energy & off-shore oil drilling”(what pres.obama promised in his campaign),auto makers possible bankruptcies and more possible lay-offs,people ‘’supposed to have been driving less”,and supposed to be buying small compact fuel efficient hybrid type vehicles. Were you’ll serious about carrying out these stuff or were these just empty threaths that played right into opec trap?
Will it be like 2007/2008 and wait until crude oil get back to over 5 a barrel then make more false threaths to OPEC with absolutely little to no action to back it up?

Should I buy a phone from Wirefly?

I’m not too sure if I should. How can they offer free phones when the carrier (at&t) isn’t offering them free? And didn’t the parent company Inphonic file for bankruptcy? I was thinking about buying it next month when my current contract ends. I would hate to buy it and have something go wrong and be locked in a 2 year contract.

Question about debt & bankruptcy?

Hey everybody,

I’ll be 23 in a few months. I’ve already been married & we bought a house [but due to a pipe busting in the winter & causing a ton of mold & then five trees falling on the house in a wind storm that the insurance company did not want to fix], the home ended up going into foreclosure. The loan was not in my name, however my name was on the deed. I’m not married anymore & the last time I checked my credit, the house did not show up but, I think that was before it was actually foreclosed on.

He & I have two credit cards [probably 00 of debt total] that I have to pay half off of [so, about 00 right there.]
Then I have a Kohls & Macys card [about 0 total].
Then I have three other items that are not credit cards that come to about ,050.

Total, I have just a little under ,000 worth of debt which I know doesn’t seem like much but, after I deduct all my bills, I don’t have much money left. Things keep popping up left & right like medical expenses & tires for the car, etc & whenever I think I’m starting to get ahead, I end up even further in debt. I already have two jobs, I already save as much money as I can. Every bit of debt that I have has already gone to collection agencies so I can’t go online & pay on anything.

I’m just wondering if [since my credit is already horrible] I should just file for bankruptcy. If I did, would the foreclosure still show up [assuming that has affected my credit]? Would it be easier to rebuild my credit after bankruptcy or repair it by paying everything off? If bankruptcy is my best option, how long will it affect me? Will I be able to rent an apartment? What if a few years from now, I want to buy a house or condo? If bankruptcy is not my best option, is there any programs that aren’t scams that I could use to consolidate or something? Not sure if this makes a difference but, I do have a 2007 car that I bought brand new. I have three years left of payments & I’m current on it. I’m thinking about trading it in for a vehicle with AWD.

Serious answers only please. I’m trying to figure out what steps that will help me further myself faster. Thanks in advance.

Question about bankruptcy, student loans, due hardship, credit cards…?

My husband is planning on filing for bankruptcy. He has student loans of about 0,000 & has already exhausted deferments. We have to prove due hardship for student loans to be considered. I have about 00 in credit card debt. My family has offered to help me pay off my debts, but i’m wondering if my debt will be considered when he attempts bankruptcy. Would it be in our benefit for me to have this debt to prove due hardship? Would my debt be covered if he did get bankruptcy, so I should save my family the $? Thanks for the feedback.

What happens when you declare bankruptcy….?

….after you get sued for building a faulty house for someone. The judge is in favour of the plaintiff, whose house you built. He rules that you must pay them ,000 to compensate for the cracks in the ceilings & walls and various other mishaps. You then, like a b*tch, file for bankruptcy. Don’t know how to phrase this, but: your claim for bankruptcy is accepted.
Replace the you with defendant. What prompts me to ask this is that the defendant walked out of court saying "You’re not getting one cent" to the plaintiff. Which, for comedic effect, i will add that he got punched in the face :L
Questions:
1) How does the plaintiff get his compensation, in civil law or whatever area of law? Are there alternative ways to gain compensation for this issue other than suing? Obviously the suing did not work out? Like for e.g. in criminal cases you can go to the Victims Compensation Tribunal if suing civilly does not work in your interests.
2) Does the defendant (in bankruptcy) have to sell all his assets and every cent of his future income goes to paying the defendant the compensation? Its only fair..
3) Does he get off scott free?

Thanks in advance :) Would appreciate it if any lawyers on yahoo could lend a hand in releasing me from confusion and unknowledgability.

Ps. The jurisdicton is NSW, Australia.

Is BANNING ISLAM the solution?

Solutions to Islamic Terror:

1) Do nothing at all (extreme Christian/Leftist view)
2) No military action, but seal every nook and cranny (mainstream Christian/Leftist view)
3) Proactively confront Islamic countries who harbor terror camps (mainstream conservative view)
4) Nuke Mecca (anti-islam view)
5) Ban Islam in America.

Choices 2 & 3 are not solutions. Islamists realize that either choice leads to bankruptcy and ruin. Its impossible to seal every nook and cranny, and even if it was, we would go bankrupt before sealing 20% of the "vulnerablities".

Iraq, Afganistan or any other Islamic theater of war is another "bleeding" alternative, as we can see now. Because American culture believes in a lefitst-santized version of "war", we give the enemy the advantage. America soliders are not soliders, they are "security" personel waiting for the Islamist to shot him.

If we banned Islam, would we need to seal every port and plane or fight overseas? Ok…go on being PC…go on.

When is filing for BANKRUPTCY Ok? What are the long/short term effects? Should I do it? Please read….?

I am a nearly 25 year old guy with terrible credit. There is about ,000 worth of things on my credit report. Now some I am working on paying off.I’d say about ,000 worth of it. For the most part the rest are student loans (Federal & Private).
I have a decent job, but with that sort of debt, in addition to living expenses- things will not get better soon.

Would bankruptcy help me? Or hurt me? Within the next few years I would love to invest in a car, house…and like to start a family before I am 30.

What do you think?

I have bad credit & unemployed. Why do hiring companies check your credit history when you're looking for work?

I have almost 20 years of bad credit I should have filed for bankruptcy ages ago.

Why is a hiring company/employer checking a person’s credit history so damn important when someone is trying their best to find employment?

How can I clear up my credit history so that hiring companies/employers don’t see it (without spending any money)?

What’s the sense of getting & knowing what’s on your credit report when you can’t do anything about it (because you can’t pay the creditors off)?

I got laid-off from a job of 12 years in January now I have lost all faith, I’ll never get another job, help please!

Could we have lied to our bankruptcy lawyer about a pending personal injury case (in our favor)?

When we filed for bankruptcy last year, our bankruptcy attorney asked us if we had any pending lawsuits. We replied with a yes, as I had to hire a personal injury lawyer cause of a car accident we were in. We were forced to get a lawyer because of the extensive medical bills…the insurance company of the at-fault driver refused to pay any of our bills…my medical bills were over ,000 & growing with my treatment and Dr’s. didn’t know when I’d be finished receiving treatment. With us already paying some of the bills out of pocket, it got to the point were forced into bankruptcy….there was no other way. We were told by the trustee and our bankruptcy lawyer that all monies received from the personal injury case would have to be applied toward the creditors in the bankruptcy. So in the end…these are the figures…
P.I. lawsuit total: ,000+.
P.I. lawyer got his cut: ,000+.
Leaving ,000+ to creditors. Could we have lied & gotten all of the ,000 w/out getting caught
