I just was watching news ticker on bloomberg channel and it says ”that oil is expected to rally/go up to or higher before mid-summer because of demand rebounding. What is all of this nonsense when we are in a global recession, people losing their jobs left and right,’’supposed to be conserving energy”,’’supposed to switch on to alternative energy & off-shore oil drilling”(what pres.obama promised in his campaign),auto makers possible bankruptcies and more possible lay-offs,people ‘’supposed to have been driving less”,and supposed to be buying small compact fuel efficient hybrid type vehicles. Were you’ll serious about carrying out these stuff or were these just empty threaths that played right into opec trap?
Will it be like 2007/2008 and wait until crude oil get back to over 5 a barrel then make more false threaths to OPEC with absolutely little to no action to back it up?

I’m not too sure if I should. How can they offer free phones when the carrier (at&t) isn’t offering them free? And didn’t the parent company Inphonic file for bankruptcy? I was thinking about buying it next month when my current contract ends. I would hate to buy it and have something go wrong and be locked in a 2 year contract.

We filed bankruptcy chapter 7 but kept our truck and the loan with it. The payment is almost 0 a month and is financed at 12.75% and with the gas milage being only 10mpg we can not afford it.
We need a lower payment & a more fuel efficient & reliable vehicle. Our truck is worth about 000 & we owe 000 & have a 0-00 to put down on top of that.
Sorry for the long question but I want to get approved or pre-approved before wasting time sitting around a dealership all day.

Hey everybody,
I’ll be 23 in a few months. I’ve already been married & we bought a house [but due to a pipe busting in the winter & causing a ton of mold & then five trees falling on the house in a wind storm that the insurance company did not want to fix], the home ended up going into foreclosure. The loan was not in my name, however my name was on the deed. I’m not married anymore & the last time I checked my credit, the house did not show up but, I think that was before it was actually foreclosed on.
He & I have two credit cards [probably 00 of debt total] that I have to pay half off of [so, about 00 right there.]
Then I have a Kohls & Macys card [about 0 total].
Then I have three other items that are not credit cards that come to about ,050.
Total, I have just a little under ,000 worth of debt which I know doesn’t seem like much but, after I deduct all my bills, I don’t have much money left. Things keep popping up left & right like medical expenses & tires for the car, etc & whenever I think I’m starting to get ahead, I end up even further in debt. I already have two jobs, I already save as much money as I can. Every bit of debt that I have has already gone to collection agencies so I can’t go online & pay on anything.
I’m just wondering if [since my credit is already horrible] I should just file for bankruptcy. If I did, would the foreclosure still show up [assuming that has affected my credit]? Would it be easier to rebuild my credit after bankruptcy or repair it by paying everything off? If bankruptcy is my best option, how long will it affect me? Will I be able to rent an apartment? What if a few years from now, I want to buy a house or condo? If bankruptcy is not my best option, is there any programs that aren’t scams that I could use to consolidate or something? Not sure if this makes a difference but, I do have a 2007 car that I bought brand new. I have three years left of payments & I’m current on it. I’m thinking about trading it in for a vehicle with AWD.
Serious answers only please. I’m trying to figure out what steps that will help me further myself faster. Thanks in advance.

My husband is planning on filing for bankruptcy. He has student loans of about 0,000 & has already exhausted deferments. We have to prove due hardship for student loans to be considered. I have about 00 in credit card debt. My family has offered to help me pay off my debts, but i’m wondering if my debt will be considered when he attempts bankruptcy. Would it be in our benefit for me to have this debt to prove due hardship? Would my debt be covered if he did get bankruptcy, so I should save my family the $? Thanks for the feedback.

….after you get sued for building a faulty house for someone. The judge is in favour of the plaintiff, whose house you built. He rules that you must pay them ,000 to compensate for the cracks in the ceilings & walls and various other mishaps. You then, like a b*tch, file for bankruptcy. Don’t know how to phrase this, but: your claim for bankruptcy is accepted.
Replace the you with defendant. What prompts me to ask this is that the defendant walked out of court saying "You’re not getting one cent" to the plaintiff. Which, for comedic effect, i will add that he got punched in the face :L
Questions:
1) How does the plaintiff get his compensation, in civil law or whatever area of law? Are there alternative ways to gain compensation for this issue other than suing? Obviously the suing did not work out? Like for e.g. in criminal cases you can go to the Victims Compensation Tribunal if suing civilly does not work in your interests.
2) Does the defendant (in bankruptcy) have to sell all his assets and every cent of his future income goes to paying the defendant the compensation? Its only fair..
3) Does he get off scott free?
Thanks in advance
Would appreciate it if any lawyers on yahoo could lend a hand in releasing me from confusion and unknowledgability.
Ps. The jurisdicton is NSW, Australia.

Solutions to Islamic Terror:
1) Do nothing at all (extreme Christian/Leftist view)
2) No military action, but seal every nook and cranny (mainstream Christian/Leftist view)
3) Proactively confront Islamic countries who harbor terror camps (mainstream conservative view)
4) Nuke Mecca (anti-islam view)
5) Ban Islam in America.
Choices 2 & 3 are not solutions. Islamists realize that either choice leads to bankruptcy and ruin. Its impossible to seal every nook and cranny, and even if it was, we would go bankrupt before sealing 20% of the "vulnerablities".
Iraq, Afganistan or any other Islamic theater of war is another "bleeding" alternative, as we can see now. Because American culture believes in a lefitst-santized version of "war", we give the enemy the advantage. America soliders are not soliders, they are "security" personel waiting for the Islamist to shot him.
If we banned Islam, would we need to seal every port and plane or fight overseas? Ok…go on being PC…go on.

I am a nearly 25 year old guy with terrible credit. There is about ,000 worth of things on my credit report. Now some I am working on paying off.I’d say about ,000 worth of it. For the most part the rest are student loans (Federal & Private).
I have a decent job, but with that sort of debt, in addition to living expenses- things will not get better soon.
Would bankruptcy help me? Or hurt me? Within the next few years I would love to invest in a car, house…and like to start a family before I am 30.
What do you think?

I have almost 20 years of bad credit I should have filed for bankruptcy ages ago.
Why is a hiring company/employer checking a person’s credit history so damn important when someone is trying their best to find employment?
How can I clear up my credit history so that hiring companies/employers don’t see it (without spending any money)?
What’s the sense of getting & knowing what’s on your credit report when you can’t do anything about it (because you can’t pay the creditors off)?
I got laid-off from a job of 12 years in January now I have lost all faith, I’ll never get another job, help please!

When we filed for bankruptcy last year, our bankruptcy attorney asked us if we had any pending lawsuits. We replied with a yes, as I had to hire a personal injury lawyer cause of a car accident we were in. We were forced to get a lawyer because of the extensive medical bills…the insurance company of the at-fault driver refused to pay any of our bills…my medical bills were over ,000 & growing with my treatment and Dr’s. didn’t know when I’d be finished receiving treatment. With us already paying some of the bills out of pocket, it got to the point were forced into bankruptcy….there was no other way. We were told by the trustee and our bankruptcy lawyer that all monies received from the personal injury case would have to be applied toward the creditors in the bankruptcy. So in the end…these are the figures…
P.I. lawsuit total: ,000+.
P.I. lawyer got his cut: ,000+.
Leaving ,000+ to creditors. Could we have lied & gotten all of the ,000 w/out getting caught

I got my discharge in the mail at the end of Febuary 09′ , I paid 00.00 for this bankruptcy.
It is now April 09′ and received a collection letter from Hudson & Keyse , should I mail or fax this to the law firm that handled my bankruptcy ?
Or after my Meeting of Creditors or after receiving my discharge , they are no longer able to help me?
If this "debt" that I got a letter about was included in my Bankruptcy isn’t it the Bankruptcy attorney / law firms responsibilty to deal with this collection letter ?
If this debt was discharged ,is there any legal action I could take against this collection agency ? Would any lawyer want to sue them, the lawyer could keep all the money I don’t care ?I just want them to pay for harrassing me.
Should I email the collection agency ? Or just send a letter ?

God’s very own nation—Israel, has socialized medicine. They defy the Biblical teaching of, "if you can’t afford surgery, *&^% you, you either die or go bankrupt!" How are they getting away with the evils of socialized medicine in the land where Jesus is supposed to return. Other nations with God-fearing people, Ireland, Malta and Poland, devout Catholic countries where people do the right thing and forbid gays to marry or recruit the children, of course, also have socialized medicine —how can they serve God and defy his will by not letting the insurance companies flourish according to what the Bible mandates, "Thou shalt do nothing that would interfere with the profit margins of Aetna and Blue Cross, screw the sick, they’re a drain on society!" What is this? Why isn’t God torturing all these nations and punishing them for their anti-Biblical stance and embracing this asinine theory that no one should go bankrupt or be denied health care.

3 1/2 yrs. ago I filed bankruptcy chapter 7. I was going under from medical bills. Everything was discharged. I recently went to go back to college because of the economy. The college I had attended was one of the creditors that I filed bankruptcy against for 0. It was discharged, like I stated, & none of my creditors ever showed up at the bankruptcy hearing. Now the college told me they won’t release my transcripts unless I pay off the 0. I told them & showed them my bankruptcy papers & discharge letter. They said that doesn’t matter they want their money. I thought that that is one of the wonderful things about our country that we can, when very hard times come, make use of this law. Shouldn’t that 0 since it was discharged be as if it had not existed? I have paid a high price for having filed bankruptcy & should not have to continue to be treated like dirt. How can they take a Federal Law like Bankruptcy Chapter 7 & then put their own spin on it? It isn’t like I just didn’t want to pay them back then. What should I do & what can be done? Thank you for you time.

I live in TN. I’ve discovered that I’m going to have to file Bankruptcy (Chapter 7). I don’t personally know of anyone who has filed Bankruptcy, so I can’t ask opinions. I look in the yellow pages & see a slew of attorney’s. I have no clue how to pick & I work & don’t have the time to have a consultation with every one of them. Is there a website that has information on lawyers, to help in picking one or maybe a site where people can type out their personal reviews of attorney’s? Any tips would be appreciated, thanks!
