They will take $5500 or so, and that is something you can work extra, live cheap on a written budget, and get saved up. When you get it saved up, then go back to them and pay them the settlement amount. Until then, just tell them you are working on it and they will paid eventually. This is far too little debt to drag you into bankruptcy over. You can do this! Start with a garage sale, and get an extra part-time job. Good luck! You don’t need to file bankruptcy!
