Considering your in debt at 50K...depends on how you've made your payments, and re establishing credit. You cannot file for 8 years from the discharge date of your first filing, so...2012 is when you could file the second time. The only alternative you have is to either set up payments yourself to get out of the debt, or to file a chapter 13 payment plan with the bankruptcy courts, you will need to seek legal counsel and a chapter 13 is high dollar to file...you're looking at up to 2500.00 to file a chapter 13...The plan runs approx 5 years depending on your income situation and leaves you with a small amount to live on but, pays your secured debts first and un secured last. Best advise would be to contact a local bankruptcy attorney, most will see you free the first consultation. If you file a bankruptcy and you have 8 years to file to do a chapter 7, yes, it shows on your credit report twice. It would show with each filing and if it's discharged or not. But, seeing you don't qualify for a chapter 7, it would show you're in a chapter 13 if that's what you decide to do. We can't tell you what to do, that's up to your to decide on your own, you can gain more bankruptcy information at their official website...www.usbankruptcy.gov Excellent site for information on bk and what the new laws mandatory to file. Good Luck!

If you already have one bankruptcy on record and are 50k in debt I would guess that your credit score is already pretty bad. It sound like you need to get some financial training and stop getting in debt.
