How much are (average) attorneys fees when you file for bankruptcy?

does anyone know if it varys depending on the amount you are filing for??? or does it depend on how much you make???
Ok, again, I am not the one filing bankrupcty, My fiance had to have surgery and didn’t have medical insurance so he is bombarded with medical bills, I am looking into options on this issue, the collection agency will only accept a minimum payment a month and we can not afford 400 a month.

It’s a flat fee regardless of how much you file on. Varies depending on the atty. Call around for quotes- most will include fees in the plan if you are filing a chpt. 13- Ususally want payment up front or before meeting of creditors if its a chpt. 7. Fees vary widely-Shop around!!

My other half just filed for bankrupcy. He was charged $1900.00, with an additional $50.00 fee on top.

I saw a joint filing in 2006 for $2400, but that was a good attorney with 30 years experience.

coming from somebody that saw my EX’s bankruptcy papers – about $2000. Why not put that $2000 towards your bills – and learn to live within your budget?
